Research and Initiatives
To support the University of Arizona mission of enriching lives through research and creative expression, Digital Learning collaborates with UA and external thought leaders and change agents in the field of online learning. Through these local, national and global partnerships and connections, we are poised to:
- Support the digital learning research endeavors of faculty and staff
- Measure the efficacy of emerging technology and innovative practice
- Identify potential research and grant opportunities for digital learning
- Examine the impact of teaching practices on student outcomes in digital environments
As researchers, practitioners and professionals informed by current and emerging scholarship in the field of online learning, the overarching goal for Digital Learning is to continuously improve the art, science and practice of online course design, implementation and practice.

At the heart of Arizona Online’s mission is a dedication to removing all obstacles and barriers on the path to a world-class education. One formidable challenge continues to be access to quality, affordable learning materials - students struggle with purchasing the required books and resources for classes due to cost, and are not prepared for success on the first day of classes.
